crafting life creativel with dandelion
For the whole of May I was moving from place to place. Some of this was for wonderful events to celebrate 20 years of Cinnamon Press, an indie publisher I founded and now help curate in its new not-for-profit status.
This month we are on our travels again — this time to celebrate Cinnamon with some of our authors in France.
This week’s post is short — partly to accommodate the travels, but also because in a busy world with so much vying for our attention it’s good to vary how we meet each other.
Moving around this month, I’ve carried a tincture to help with an autoimmune condition while busy. It has herbs that help with fatigue and inflammation, with symptoms of the condition and also that support the liver. The liver does over 500 jobs in the body and is so basic to so many other processes. And always the liver herb I reach for is dandelion.
The fields around our home are awash with them — liver and gallbladder supporters, digestives, kidney supporters, nutrient rich — and too often overlooked as a ‘weed’. Dandelion is resilient and adaptable — an amazing companion in challenging times.
The question dandelion asks is: How are you digesting your life? (emotionally, spiritually, physically… however you interpret this.)

A wonderful way to take herbs is in food and this is a delicious recipe for dandelion pesto (with a vegan variation)
What is your way of digesting life in these times?
